Leading the Fight against Heart Disease and Stroke

At Croí, our mission is to prevent disease, save lives and promote recovery & wellbeing.
Our work is funded from voluntary contributions, philanthropy and fundraising events such as Big Heart Car Draw. With the help of people like you, Croí can make a tangible impact in saving lives and improving the lives of individuals living with heart disease and stroke.
Your support will go a long way in ensuring that Croí can continue to be there for those who need us most. Every ticket purchased counts and enables us to make a real difference in the lives of individuals and families affected by heart disease and stroke.
Over the course of almost four decades, the organisation has marked many firsts for Ireland – including the first mobile coronary care unit and the first cardiovascular risk, lifestyle and behaviour change programme.
In 2024, we were delighted to launch the Croí Mobile Health Fleet, which will serve as a vital resource offering a wide range of free health activities across Ireland. This will increase our capacity to empower individuals with the knowledge and support
they need to take control of their heart health.

In 2025, we opened the Joe & Helen O’Toole Community Stroke Hub at Croí House in Galway, dedicated to community-based support for people affected by stroke. This new purpose-built facility serves as a crucial resource for individuals recovering from stroke, offering essential rehabilitation programmes and carer support services. This new stroke hub hosts Croí’s new stroke recovery day programme, which provides a comprehensive range of therapies and supports to enhance the quality of life for stroke survivors and their families.
“I had a quadruple bypass over 20 years ago and have used Croí’s services ever since. Being a part of the Croí community has been life-changing.” –
Gerard Howard, Croí Programme Participant and Volunteer
